Safe Journey Announces the Launch of PurpleOne™ A Comprehensive Community Awareness and Response Program

Partners with OhanaLink Technologies™ to Customize Tech Solution for Domestic Violence Agencies and Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence

(Union City, PA) – June 17, 2024 - Domestic violence agency, Safe Journey™ announced today the launch of PurpleOne™, a comprehensive community awareness and response initiative that addresses the social impact of domestic violence across the U.S.  The PurpleOne program was initiated in 2017 by Safe Journey, the Erie County, PA-based domestic violence services agency with support from the Rural Erie County Domestic Violence Task Force.  Funded through the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women, the program was designed to empower survivors and community members to take action against domestic violence.

The launch of the program was accelerated through a partnership with OhanaLink Technologies who serves as the exclusive technology partner for PurpleOne.  OhanaLink Technologies is a platform technology company headquartered in Western Pennsylvania.   The woman-led tech company developed OhanaLink Purple™, a safe, secure client interaction and engagement system that was designed through a collaboration with domestic violence agencies in Western Pennsylvania.  OhanaLink Purple launched in 2022 and is being adopted by domestic violence agencies across the country.

About PurpleOne™

PurpleOne is a domestic violence community awareness initiative created by Safe Journey, an Erie County, Pennsylvania domestic violence agency. Supported by a grant awarded by the Office of Violence Against Women, the U.S. Department of Justice.  PurpleOne was developed to unite communities around the eradication of domestic violence in communities across the country.   The goal of the program is to empower members of the community as potential bystanders. PurpleOne training teaches community members to Recognize domestic violence, learn skills to Respond to a domestic violence survivor or situation, and to Refer victims to the local state-recognized domestic violence agencies who offer comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence in their area. The PurpleOne program also includes a victim’s awareness campaign to engage survivors themselves. PurpleOne encourages all community members, businesses and organizations to become PurpleOne trained, and for businesses to become designated Safe Places for domestic violence victims.
